Written by Brandon Oliver Of the many fast and athletic linebackers the Oregon Ducks currently have on their roster, one of them doesn’t get mentioned as much as some of the other guys. He is young but still plans on making an impact on the field this year. Everyone likes a linebacker who can lay the wood and change a game with his pad popping tackles. That is just one reason why sophomore Josh Kaddu will quickly become a fan favorite once he has the chance to make an impact on the field. Duck Territory caught up with the rising star and here is how that conversation went… --------- Duck Territory- How were the off-season and spring ball for you? Josh Kaddu- The off-season so far has been going good for me. A lot of running and working out which I needed. Spring ball went pretty good for me. It was easier to grasp the defense and I feel a lot more comfortable out there playing. --------- DT- Current Height and Weight? JK- 6’3, 218 --------- DT- What position have you been working at? JK- SAM linebacker --------- DT- Biggest difference with Coach Kelly at the helm? JK- Our attitude as a team about how we approach things, working to be the best. --------- DT- You have a reputation as a big hitter, what else do you think you bring to the team? JK- I believe I can make plays by causing turnovers, disrupting the offense in the backfield and getting to the ball every play. --------- DT- You are part of probably the deepest, fastest and most talented linebacker corps ever at Oregon. What do you think you guys do for the defense? JK- With our speed as a corps, I believe we will get our hands on a lot more balls in the passing game and we will get to the QB a lot more. We create chaos for opposing offenses. --------- DT-Who stood out to you during spring ball or the off-season? JK- Scott Grady --------- DT- What are your goals for the 2009 season? JK- I want to be a standout on specials team, get in on our different packages we have as a defense and make plays with every opportunity I get. --------- DT- Any particular game you are really looking forward to this year? JK- No, not really. If it had to be one probably Stanford because most of my family will be at the game. --------- DT- What makes this a good season for Josh Kaddu? JK- Making the most out of my opportunities and becoming a disruptor to all offenses. --------- DT- Best moment at Oregon so far? JK- Being at the holiday bowl. --------- DT- Do you have a major picked out yet? How is school going for you? JK- Undecided, school is going good just taking classes trying to figure out what I want to major in. --------- DT- Anything you want to say to Duck fans out there?
